I offer my heartfelt congratulations on the launch of the Gyeonggi Northern Uijeongbu Association.
Esports is no longer the exclusive domain of any particular region or generation — it is a future industry and culture that all of Korea must nurture together. In that sense, the news that a new challenge is beginning in Uijeongbu, at the heart of the Gyeonggi Northern region that has long remained an infrastructure blind spot, carries great significance for our Institute as well.
The launch of this association, spanning Uijeongbu, Yangju, Pocheon, Dongducheon, Namyangju, Guri, Gapyeong, Yangpyeong, Paju, and Goyang Special City (Ilsan), is not simply the addition of one more regional organization. I believe it is the first step toward the values the International Esports Promotion Institute (IESI) pursues — balanced regional development and expanded youth participation — taking root in the field.
As the Association moves forward on its journey together with local communities, educational institutions, and various partner organizations, the International Esports Promotion Institute (IESI) will stand alongside it to the best of our ability. Once again, congratulations on the vigorous launch of the Gyeonggi Northern Uijeongbu Association, and I look forward to its continued growth.
Jeon Yeo-ok, Chairperson, International Esports Promotion Institute (IESI)
