International Esports Promotion Institute Gyeonggi Northern Uijeongbu Association
The International Esports Promotion Institute (IESI) Gyeonggi Northern Uijeongbu Association works toward building an esports ecosystem across the Gyeonggi Northern region, including Uijeongbu, Yangju, Pocheon, Dongducheon, Namyangju, Guri, Gapyeong, Yangpyeong, Paju, and Goyang Special City (Ilsan). We collaborate with related organizations such as the Korea Martial Arts Committee (KMAC) and the Korea Sports for All Federation (SAKA) to carry out community-focused initiatives.
Although the Gyeonggi Northern region is close to the Seoul metropolitan area, it lacks core infrastructure such as dedicated arenas and specialized academies, making it one of the regions in urgent need of an esports ecosystem. The Uijeongbu Association sees this gap as an opportunity, and aims to build a community esports hub connecting local governments, businesses, and youth.

A Community-Focused Grassroots Esports Ecosystem
The five years from 2026 to 2030 are expected to be a decisive period in which Korean esports takes root as a grassroots community sport, moving beyond its metropolitan-centered origins. Now is considered the ideal time for the Gyeonggi Northern region to build a grassroots esports ecosystem connecting youth, the gaming industry, and the local economy.
